About

Nobody owned the trip between the kitchen and the factory. So we took it on.

Tadweerak is a Jordanian platform that organises the collection of recyclable materials from restaurants and shops and delivers them to the factories that need them — on schedule, weighed, with a receipt.

The story

It started with a simple question.

Why does frying oil get poured down drains, or sold to people nobody knows, while biodiesel and soap plants are looking for raw material?

The problem isn't the oil or the factory. It's the trip between them: no schedule, no recorded weight, nobody responsible. That trip is what we're building.

We start with oil because it's the clearest case: every commercial kitchen produces it every week, and it already has buyers. Plastic, cardboard and metals come next.

The problem

Where does Jordan's municipal waste go?

Out of every 100 tonnes, only 7 come back as raw material. The rest is landfilled or dumped in the open.

  • 45%Open dumping
  • 7%Recycled

The idea

At the restaurant

Jerrycans of oil pile up by the back door and need someone to take them, on schedule.

At the factory

Production lines waiting for steady raw material, weighed and clean.

We're the trip in between.

Mission

Make collection organised: a fixed time, weighed in front of you, a receipt every time.

Vision

A Jordan where resources go back to factories instead of into the ground.

What we stand for

  • Organised
    • A fixed time — no calls, no waiting
    • Weighed in front of you, logged every time
  • Valuable
    • Your oil is raw material, not waste
    • Factories get supply they can count on
  • Local
    • Built for Jordan's streets
    • Arabic first, with a human voice

Impact

What happens to the oil depends on who takes it.

If it's poured away

  • It cools, hardens and blocks drains
  • It reaches soil and water
  • Or it's resold with no oversight

If it's collected

  • It's weighed and recorded
  • It goes to a licensed plant
  • It becomes biodiesel or soap
